The three-week art and travel program in China was first offered in 2007. The 2008 program started in Beijing on Sept. 2nd and concluded in Shanghai on Sept. 22nd with a group of 14 UO students from diverse art background including architecture, digital arts, painting and drawing, printmaking, product design, sculpture, and journalism. While in China the students experienced first hands the most contemporary and uniquely traditional aspects of art/culture/life, collaborated with Chinese students on art projects and a joint public art exhibition in Shandong University of Art and Design Art Museum. Back on campus, the students held a group exhibition “the streets of China” in Laverne Krause gallery from Oct. 27th to 31st.
